The Passing of a Life Member

June 7th, 2017

The Brighton Bowling Club mourns the passing of a valued Life member, Frieda Hayward.  Frieda passed away on Tuesday 6th June; Frieda has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for several years.

Frieda was a very active member of the club for many years, our thoughts and wishes go to John and her family.  Including the first female Club Treasurer, Coach, Trading Table manager, helping with Tournaments and Past Club Champion.  Frieda was a great role model and advocate for the club.

The funeral is scheduled for 10am, Thursday 15th June at the White Lady funeral parlour, 209 Anzac Highway, Plympton.

Saturday Div 7 Pennant Winners

March 30th, 2017

Brighton’s first Saturday pennant in many years was won by our Div 7 SW red side. This was a remarkable achievement by a group which included many inexperienced bowlers. Thanks to our skippers, Lee Agars, Roy Broughton, Geoff Mayne and Terry Fanning.

The side was remarkably consistent , with 10 players involved in 10 or more of the 18 games with Steve Howie and Alan Rolton playing 16 games.
